What Does “Moving On” Even Mean?
Before we dive in, let’s get one thing straight — “moving on” isn’t just about heartbreak. It’s about grief, childhood trauma, toxic attachments, addictions, and the endless loop of trying to outrun ourselves.
With that disclaimer out of the way, let’s ask the real questions:
- What does moving on actually mean?
- Why do we fool ourselves into thinking we’ve done it?
- Why does life — cruel, calculated, and endlessly amused — keep throwing triggers at us just when we start believing the lie?
- And even if moving on is impossible, is there anything we can realistically do? Or is this just an elaborate self-sponsored coping mechanism, one we maintain so we don’t collapse under the weight of our own history?
So, where do we begin? Or do we just… move on?
